Tobeco Creek Woolery (pronounced TOE-beh-coe) takes its name from the creek that winds through the rolling hills behind our dye studio before flowing into Petobego Pond (pronounced Peh-TOE-beh-goe). The name traces its roots to the local Anishnaabe language and is often translated as “Sandy Point Water,” a fitting tribute to the place where these waters meet the shores of Grand Traverse Bay.
